Registrar imposed conditions of use
The GI Act enables the Registrar to register a GI with conditions on the GI’s use. “Conditions”, in this context, means requirements that place additional restrictions on the use of the GI to those required by the Act.
In practice it’s unlikely that the Registrar will impose conditions that go to the wine making process.
However, the Registrar may accept a voluntary condition on GI use, provided it doesn’t contravene restrictions on GI use as otherwise provided for in the GI Act.
