When required A hearing fee is required if a party elects to be heard either by way of written submissions or by appearance before the Commissioner. Timing of payment If a party elects to be heard on the basis of written submissions, they must pay the hearing fee when filing their written submissions. In the case of a hearing by appearance, the party must pay the hearing fee no less than 10 working days before the scheduled hearing date. Refunds A hearing fee will only be refunded if a party advises the Commissioner that they have withdrawn from the proceeding no less than 5 working days before the scheduled hearing date.
