We’ve made a number of improvements to our case management facility as of 1 June 2017:
Accounts without default clients
If your IPONZ account does not have a default client, you will now see a message that prompts you to complete your account setup before you proceed.
For more information on setting up a default client, please visit our guide on Creating and maintaining a user.
Regeneration of registration or grant certificates
You may now regenerate a registration or grant certificate for an IP right. This can be requested by the IP right’s owner or agent, and is available under the maintenance pages for that IP type.
This may be useful if an IP has changed ownership, or has had any updated information that needs to be reflected in its certificate.
The following certificates may be regenerated:
- Grant of patent
- Registration of trade mark
- Protection of international trade mark designating New Zealand
- Registration of design
- Grant of plant variety right
The regenerated certificate will be available as a new document attached to the IP case, and a notification will be sent to that case’s user in charge.
WIPO documents on international trade marks now public
When an international trade mark designating New Zealand is updated within WIPO’s ROMARIN database, the change is notified and recorded in the IPONZ register. These change notifications are now publicly available as documentation in their IP cases.
