The Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand (IPONZ), the Australasian Performing Right Association and Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society New Zealand (APRA AMCOS NZ), and New Zealand Intellectual Property Attorneys Inc (NZIPA) invite you to a special panel discussion in celebration of World IP Day 2025.
The 2025 theme is IP and music, highlighting how a combination of creativity, innovation, and intellectual property rights can support a thriving music scene.
The contemporary world has seen musical influence extend far beyond its own realm – to everything from entertainment, technology, fashion, and merchandise. IP rights help empower these connections, encourage fresh ideas, and safeguard the work of producers so that they can continue pushing the boundaries of emotion and creativity.
Our panel will focus on IP and music from a New Zealand perspective – what activities are taking place in the industry, and the advances and challenges it is facing with intellectual property.

- Date: Thursday 8 May 2025
