The public submissions on the proposed regulations and fees required to implement the Geographical Indications (Wines and Spirits) Registration Act are now available on the MBIE website.
The Geographical Indications (Wine and Spirits) Registration Act is currently being amended in a Bill before Parliament. When brought into force, it will establish a system for registering geographical indications in New Zealand for wines and spirits.
An exposure draft of the regulations and fee schedule was released for public consultation in July.
